Since this is a survey course covering a huge expanse of time, staying organized will be important to your success!
1. Class Notes YOU MUST HAVE A WAY TO WRITE ON THE UNIT POWERPOINTS
2. Vocabulary lists must be stored (found on Google Classroom and on website)
3. We will use Graphic Organizers and/or Charts to take notes on works of art
4. POSTCARDS (make your own) are highly recommended for this class
Grades
10% Vocabulary Quizzes
25% Class participation- Working well in groups, Asking Good Questions, Engaging in class discussions, looking alert, doing your homework
40% Tests
25% Writing exercises – 1 paper (4-5 pages) per quarter. Four total for the year. And frequent shorter, “long answer” questions, usually a paragraph or 2
The lowest vocab quiz or Test gets dropped. Not applied to the papers/essays
Plagiarism
Plagiarism means to take someone else’s ideas or words as your own, whether intentionally or not. The expectation in all of your classes is that you will demonstrate academic integrity and will give credit when credit is due. Plagiarizing in this course is unacceptable and would affect your class grade as well as requiring further disciplinary action.
